Capturing Content in the Field - Step 3 - Using On3 AI App

This article explains how to use the On3 AI app to record single videos or create multi-scene modules, organize field content, and generate learning content in Content Connect.

1. Accessing the On3 AI App

  1. Open the On3 AI mobile app
  2. Available options may include:
    • Ask On3 (available to all users)
    • Record Video (for content capture)
    • Create Course (for structured module creation)

Note: Only designated content creators will see all content creation options.

2. Recording a Single-Scene Video

Use Record Video when your content can be captured in one continuous shot.

Best Use Cases

  • Quick field observations
  • Demonstrating right vs. wrong conditions
  • Capturing simple processes

Steps

  1. Tap Record Video
  2. Record your video
    • Use landscape mode
    • Use a microphone if available
  3. Stop recording

After Recording

  • Review the video
  • Choose:
    • Retake Video, or
    • Use Video

Submission

  • Review the clip one more time
  • Tap Send to On3

Your video is uploaded directly to Content Connect, where it can be edited and used.

3. Creating a Multi-Scene Module

Use this method when your topic requires multiple segments or a structured explanation.

Steps to Start

  1. Tap Create Course
  2. Select Create Module
  3. Choose AI-Assisted Recording

4. Defining Your Content

  • Enter a brief description of your topic
  • Optionally specify how many scenes you want to create

Example

“I want to create a video about PPE with three scenes.”

  • If no number is specified, On3 AI will determine the number of scenes automatically
  • You can always add or remove scenes later

5. Recording Multiple Scenes

On3 AI generates key points (scene placeholders) for you.

  • Each key point represents one video clip
  • Record each scene individually
  • Example:
    • Hard hat
    • Protective glasses
    • Hearing protection

Editing Clips

  • Delete and reshoot clips as needed
  • Reorder clips by dragging them up or down

6. Reviewing and Generating Learning Content

Once all clips are recorded:

  1. Tap Review
  2. Tap Primers

The system will begin generating learning content based on your videos.

7. Reviewing Generated Content

Navigate through each section:

  • Learning Objectives
  • Flashcards
  • Knowledge Checks

When finished, tap Finish Review

8. Finalizing in Content Connect

Your module is now available in Content Connect.

From there, you can:

  • Make edits
