Using the On3AI Mobile App to Create a Training Module

This article explains how to create training modules using the On3AI mobile app, including single-video recording, AI-assisted multi-clip creation, and final review in Content Connect.

1. Purpose of This Training

This training is designed to:

  • Teach users how to create training modules using the On3AI mobile app

  • Explain when to use:

    • Single-video recording

    • AI-assisted, multi-clip module creation

  • Show how mobile-captured content becomes a complete learning module inside Content Connect

2. Getting Started in the On3AI App

  1. Open the On3AI mobile app

  2. The primary home screen options include:

    • Ask On3

    • Record Video

    • Create Course

3. Creating a Simple One-Video Module (Record Video)

Best for: Single-scene “show and tell” content

Steps

  • Select Record Video

  • Rotate your phone to landscape mode for full visual context

  • Ensure the subject matter expert is wearing a wireless microphone

  • Record the video until satisfied

  • Stop recording

Post-Recording Options

  • Review the video using the Play button

  • Choose one:

    • Retake Video (if needed)

    • Use Video (if satisfied)

Submission

  • Review the video on the submission screen

  • Tap Send to On3

  • The video uploads automatically to Content Connect

4. Creating a Multi-Clip Module (Create Course → Create Module)

Best for: Longer topics or structured instruction broken into steps

Steps to Begin

  • Select Create Course

  • Choose Create Module

  • Select AI-Assisted Recording

5. Using AI-Assisted Recording

How to Start

  • Tap Start

  • Speak naturally and describe:

    • What the module is about

    • Example: “Steps for properly flashing a window—top, sides, and sill”

  • Advance to begin module generation

What the AI Does

  • Interprets your description

  • Generates multiple key points (video placeholders)

  • Prepares the structure for a multi-clip module

Note: Key points are placeholders. Titles can be edited and adjusted later.

6. Recording Video Clips by Key Point

  • Each key point equals one video clip

  • Tap the camera icon for each key point

  • Rotate your phone to landscape mode

  • Record focused content for that specific step

Example Clip Structure

  1. Overview and importance of proper window flashing

  2. Top flashing installation

  3. Side flashing (shingle pattern and sealing)

  4. Bottom sill flashing and wrap

  5. Optional recap or summary clip

7. Managing Key Points

  • Delete key points

    • Swipe right and tap the trash icon

  • Add new key points

    • Tap the plus (+) button

    • Record additional clips as needed

8. Reviewing Recorded Clips

  • Tap Review Module

  • Swipe left to move through each recorded clip

  • Play videos to confirm quality and clarity

  • Confirm all clips are complete before proceeding

9. Generating Learning Content

  • Tap Primers

  • The system generates learning content around the videos

  • Allow several minutes for processing

Note: Most detailed editing is best completed later in Content Connect on a laptop.

10. Reviewing Generated Learning Elements in the App

Navigate through the tabs to preview:

  • Learning Objectives

  • Primers

  • Flashcards

  • Knowledge Checks

Confirm the content is present and generally accurate, then tap Finish Review to complete the mobile workflow.

11. Finalizing the Module in Content Connect (Desktop)

  1. Go to app.on3.ai

  2. Open Content Connect

  3. Navigate to Modules

    • The most recent module appears at the top

  4. Open the AI-named module (title can be edited)

12. Managing Video Order and Key Points in Content Connect

  • Expand Key Points

  • Drag and drop key points to reorder clips

  • If the order changes:

    • Open Module Details

    • Remove the original combined video (click on the "x" at the bottom right in the video)

    • Select Join Videos - Re-join clips in the new order

On3AI automatically re-edits the combined video.

13. Reviewing Transcripts (Critical Step)

  • Navigate to Resources → Content → Video

  • Review transcripts under the Joined Video clip

  • Correct any transcript errors and save changes

Regenerate the module if changes are made:

  • Open the AI Assistant (top navigation bar)

  • Select Regenerate Module

Important:
All learning content is driven by transcript accuracy.

14. Final Review and Approval

  • Preview the full learning journey

  • Use AI Assistant tools if needed

  • Notify your supervisor or reviewer

  • Once approved:

    • The module moves to the Beta Review Library in the On3 Learn app

    • This is the final step before release to learners

15. Key Takeaways

  • Mobile capture plus AI creates full training modules

  • Landscape video and clear audio are essential

  • Key points (video placeholders) control structure and flow

  • Transcript accuracy determines learning quality

  • Content Connect is where final polish happens
